General Mills is the world's sixth-largest food company, marketing its products in more than 100 countries. General Mills produces numerous cereals, snacks, and organic products, as well as the Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Progresso, Yoplait/Colombo, and Haagan-Dazs brands.

Please send a letter to General Mills asking them to promise not to use or sell products from cloned animals or their offspring. A sample letter is provided below, but it would be more effective if you personalized it before sending.

Dear General Mills,

It has come to my attention that the FDA is planning to allow milk and meat from cloned animals and their offspring into the food supply, without labels. I am highly concerned about this, since cloning is associated with a tremendous amount of animal suffering, and cloned foods have not been convincingly shown to be safe to consume.

On your website, you state that you will "never knowingly or willfully undermine that trust" that consumers place in General Mills. As such, I hope that you will be responsive to my concerns. Please do everything you can to make sure that products from cloned animals and their offspring do not appear in my grocery stores, restaurants, or pet foods. Cloning is cruel and unnecessary.

Sincerely,
